The Grim Reaper Resurrected
Custom Airbrushed Artwork & Paint
by James Scott The B-King Transformation From over the top to out of this world...

Show Class Winner!
I have always had a thing for custom painted bikes. I have
always wanted to own a bike with high quality custom paint
complete with airbrushed artwork. Last fall I scratched this
itch and hired James Scott
www.paintbyjames.com
to do the painting. James did an amazing job and the
artwork was exactly what I asked for. I wanted subtle flames and
a grim reaper on the fender. The bike received countless
accolades from bikers I met out on the road and in some case
just folks in shopping mall parking lots. Unfortunately weeks
after the custom airbrushed artwork was completed I was involved
in a motorcycle accident that damaged some of the painted
plastic. Insurance game through and covered the repairs and new
paint. I wanted to bring back the Grim Reaper theme but decided
to ditch the subtle approach and go with
brighter and more luminescent flames. Most refer
to the flame type as true fire flames or real fire flames. I
also wanted the Grim Reaper on the sides as well as on the front
fender. This time I wanted the Grim Reaper pointing to the
front. Kind of a "Your next" look to it. James is a highly
skilled artist and painter so none of this was a stretch for
him. Hell, he even did some prefabricating and made some cool
side case badges out of PVC to bring the artwork lower on the
bike and round things out. My B-King has been in James's garage
fort the past several weeks undergoing the transformation. I had
no idea the amount of time and detail that goes into this type
of airbrushed paint work. First the parts required prepping for
paint. Once prepped the Grim Reaper airbrushed artwork was done.
This required many layers of different colors of paint. The
flames were then airbrushed and they were airbrushed on in four
layers each with its own color of paint. The sequence was red,
orange, yellow and white. These were followed by Candy Gold and
then cover with several coats of clear coat. I was provided
pictures as the paint transformation took place. The paint is
now complete and will enter its first bike show in the South
hill Mall October 24th - 25th. A video will follow. A big Thanks to James Scott, owner

While you wait for my media to make it's way to this page take
some time to watch the videos below. The
videos show a helmet he painted for the Play Boy mansion for
their fund raiser and a custom airbrushed bike that is really
trick!
