Oyster Run 2009 | Date: 9/27/2009 Ride the Northwest’s largest motorcycle rally. The Oyster Run is an amazing event. Take the Mukilteo Ferry to Whidbey Island. Ride Whidbey Island and some of it’s shorelines. Ride into Anacortes the back way and avoid the crowd. Enjoy 255 miles of road and thousands of motorcycles. Enjoy the music, people, food and the Seattle Cossacks motorcycle stunt team. This rally is once a year and is a must do. North Cascades - Stevens Pass Loop - Day 2 | Date: 8/24/2009 Day 2 - A ride through the town of Leavenworth WA and west bound on Hwy 2. Paralleling the Wenatchee River and up over Stevens Pass. Visit Deception Falls in Skykomish then ride through Monroe to Cherry Valley Rd for 10 miles of twists, turns and country. Then ride hwy 203 to Snoqualmie Falls and then on to hwy 18. North Cascades - Stevens Pass Loop Day 1 | Date: 8/23/2009 Day 1 - An amazing 2 day ride up and over the North Cascades Hyw 20. Experience the turquoise green waters of Diablo Lake and marvel at the peaks of the North Cascades. Then ride down in to eastern WA To the western town of Winthrop and on to Twisp and Chelan. Enjoy riding parallel next to lakes Pateros and Entiat on Hwy 153 and then ride Hwy 97 to Leavenworth WA. See Day 2 for Stevens Pass. Gig Harbor - Vashon Island Loop | Date: 6/28/2009 This is a nice short but scenic 56 mile ride over the Narrows Bridge, through the small harbor town of Gig Harbor and on through Olalla to the South worth Ferry terminal. Next a short ferry crossing to Vashon and then ride Burma Rd on the west side and then head to point Robinson Light House. Top it all off with a scenic ride around Quartermaster harbor and a ferry ride to the Point Defiance landing in Tacoma. Mossyrock Dam -McKenna Loop | Date: 6/27/2009 Dam Tour 2009 Picnic route. This is a sweet ride up Hyw 7 through the twists and turns between LaGrande and Elbe. Ride through Elbe and then through Carlson and Coal Canyon. You will ride through Morton and then head west on US 12 to the Mossyrock Dam and Park. This is a great place for a picnic. Then ride Hyw 122 to Hyw508 and follow the scenic 508 into chehalis and the Hyw 507. Take a short sweet detour on to Johnston Creek road and see the Skookumchuck River. Hells Canyon Rally Day 3 | Date: 6/14/2009 Departure day! This route will take you northbound on I-84 to hyw 204 for a scenic ride through turns and straights up to the altitude of 5,200 feet above sea level then back down. Then ride Hyw 11 through Athena and then Hyw 37 through farmland to hyw 735 where you will ride parallel to the Columbia River. Cross over the river and ride I-182 to I-82 through eastern Washington and stop in at miners Drive in for a Miner burger. Then ride I-82 to SR 12 and then SR 410 through some beautiful mountain roads with road side falls etc. The summit is Chinook Pass and well worth the ride. Hells Canyon Rally Day 2 | Date: 6/13/2009 Riding the Devils Tail - This is an amazing 184 mile ride through twists and turns crossing eastern Oregon and then across the border into Idaho. Once in Idaho you will be treated to 22.4 miles of twisting roads and scenic bliss as you ride deep into the canyon finally reaching your destination the Hells canyon Dam and Snake River. Hells Canyon Rally Day 1 | Date: 6/12/2009 Road to Baker City Oregon. A scenic 456 mile ride from Tacoma WA to SR 14 and along the Columbia River to Plymouth for lunch. After lunch ride US 395 to I-84 and from there enjoy the ride through eastern Oregon to the historic Baker City where the Hells Canyon Rally event is held. Johnston Ridge MT ST Helens & McKenna | Date: 6/1/2009 This ride is without a doubt one of Washington's finest. 286 miles of great roads. Ride up Hyw 505 through Toledo to Hyw 504 and stop in to see the 28 foot Big Foot past Kid Valley. Continue on and ride across the Toutle river Bridge span and through some of the best sweepers, twisties and a few hair pins as you make your way from view point after view point all with breathe taking views of MT ST Helen's. Ride up roads aimed right into the mouth of the crater. Enjoy a great burger and maybe a Helicopter tour at Eco Park Resort. Chinook Pass & White Pass Loop | Date: 5/24/2009 A beautiful spring ride over Chinook Pass the opening week. The ride stretches from the turns and farmland of the Green Valley road to Hyw 410 paralleling the Whire River and passing Skookum Falls. Ride down through the twisties on the east side to hyw 12. Ride the amazing twists and turns paralleling the Tieton River and Rim Rock Lake prior to riding over White Pass and on through Packwood, Randle, Morton and Elbe. Orting & South Prairie Loop | Date: 1/3/2009 A short but sweet ride through Auburn via Jovita Blvd., Forest Canyon Rd and past Lake Tapps. Ride McCutcheon Rd to Hyw 162 paralleling the Carbon River through Orting and then on to South Prairie. All of which are great back roads. Once past South Prairie ride Hyw 165 onto Hyw 410 then through some great cattle farm land to the Auburn Enumclaw Rd and down through Auburn. Next it's a laid back ride down West Valley Hyw into Sumner and Puyallup and then down N Levee Rd paralleling the Puyallup river. Green Valley - Carbob River Park | Date: 11/15/2008 This ride is short but an oh so sweet 120 mile ride through Green Valley, Hyw 410 through Buckley and on to Hyw 165. 165 will takes you through the historic towns of Wilkeson and Carbonado. You will ride across the historic Fairfax Bridge, built in 1921, and then on to Carbon River Park. This ride is packed with allot of history, breathe taking scenery and some great twists and turns. Don't forget to stop at Wally's White River Drive-in, located in Buckly on Hyw 410, for a great burger. Wally's is featured on my Best burgers page. Shelton & Tenino | Date: 10/26/2008 This 215 mile ride is perfect for fall and winter time. Ride Chambers Creek Rd through Steilacoom an on to DuPont via the DuPont Steilacoom Rd. . Enjoy allot of twisties on back roads in Olympia and through Shelton. Ride past several bodies of salt and fresh water. SR-101, Shelton-Matlock Rd, Middle Satsop Rd. Hyw 8, Little Rock Rd, Hyw 507 and stop at Washington’s bet burger joint Bunkhouse BBQ. Ride this in the fall and you will be treated to some of the best fall colors as the trees turn colors. Hurricane Ridge & Sequim Bay | Date: 9/15/2008 This is a great 300 mile day ride past Car and Case Inlets, Rocky Bay and up US 101 around the east and west shores of Hood Canal. Ride US 101 to Fat Smitty’s in Discovery Bay for a Smitty Burger. Next stop is Port Angeles and then up to Hurricane Ridge. The view is spectacular. The return trip will take you through Dungeness and Sequim to the Sequim Bay state park. You will ride through Bremerton, Port Orchard and Olalla via back roads. US2 & I-90 Loop | Date: 9/6/2008 One of Washington’s great rides, enjoy this 315 Miles over two passes. Ride Hyw 18 past Snoqualmie Falls and then Hyw 203 through farm land to US 2. Once on US 2 you will ride parallel the Skykomish River and into the Bavarian town of Leavenworth for a tasty Bratwurst. Once fed, Ride US 97 through some of WA best high speed sweeping turns. Hyw 970 will take you past one of the larger Buffalo farms. Once on I-90 you will ride up and over Snoqualmie pass back to Hyw 18. Mud Mountain Dam & Sunrise | Date: 9/1/2008 196 miles ride to Mud Mountain Dam and the on to Sunrise at MT Rainier. This ride is loaded with back roads one of which is the Green Valley Rd. Visit the Mud Mountain Dam then ride Hyw 410 paralleling the White River to Sunrise Rd. Once on Sunrise Rd. Enjoy the never ending twists and turns and breathe taking views for 15 miles until you reach the lodge at 6,400 feet above sea level. Kapowsin - McKenna Loop | Date: 8/31/2008 Short but sweet! 109 miles starting with Pioneer Way Tacoma Puyallup. Then ride Hyw 410, Kapowsin Hyw, Orville Rd., Hyw 161, Hyw 7, Hyw 702, Hyw 507 to McKenna. Enjoy one of Washington's best burgers at the Bunkhouse BBQ in McKenna. Then ride on to Hyw 510 through Yelm and on to the Old Pacific Hyw. Cross the Nisqually River and take I-5 to the Dupont Steilacoom Rd exit. Ride through Steilacoom. MT Baker | Date: 8/16/2008 394 mile ride north to MT Baker. Hyw 18, Hyw 203, US 2, Hyw 9 and Hyw 542. Ride by Snoqualmie, Skykomish and Nooksack rivers and McMurray Lake and Big Lake. Pass through small towns such as Carnation, Duvall, Monroe, Acme, Vandandt and the little town of Glacier. Ride up hwy 542 in elevation to the MT Baker Ski Resort and Summit for one of the most breath taking views of MT Baker. Crater Lake - Oregon Coast | Date: 8/1/2008 This is an amazing 3 Days and 992 miles of roads. Day 1 - Tacoma to Deschutes Canyon Oregon via NF-25, NF-90, Wind River Road, I-84, US 35 and US 26. Camp in the canyon on Lake Simtustus. Day 2 - Ride to Crater Lake via US 26, US 97, Hyw 58, Hyw 138, Hyw 232 through the Pumas Desert to Rim Rd and on to Mazama Camp ground. Then ride around Crater Lake on Rim Rd. and enjoy awesome views of the deep blue water of Crater Lake. Day 3 to the Oregon coast via Hyw 138 through 100 miles of twists and turns paralleling Umpqua River. I-5 then back on to Hyw 138 to US 101. Ride the Oregon coast taking in spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Oregon’s ocean beaches. 3 Days and 4 videos! Flaming Geyser Park - Dash Point | Date: 7/12/2008 This ride is a short but sweet 88 mile ride to Flaming Geyser Park via the Green Valley RD. The return trip takes you farther up the Green Valley Rd on to Franklin Rd. SE and the to the Green River Gorge Rd. Look for 'Trader John" along the way. Stop at the Green River Gorge Bridge and walk the span. The scenery is breath taking. The ride continues up highway 18 through Federal Way and on to Dash Point. Follow Dash Point, along the East side of Commencement Bay and on into Fife to Pick Quick for a double cheese burger, fries and a malt. Elbe and Hyw 508 | Date: 7/8/2008 A nice relaxing 166 mile ride through the excellent twities prior to Elbe. Next it’s on to Hyw 508 in Morton. 508 Parallels a couple rivers and has some nice sweeping turns. Then it’s on to Chehalis and then on to Olympia, the home of Big Tom's Drive-In. Multnomah Falls Oregon | Date: 6/28/2008 For those who love the long (487 mile) day ride. Well worth it! Ride up I-5 to Oregon’s Historic Columbia River Highway to see three of Oregon's great waterfalls (Multnomah, Horsetail and Wahkeena). Ride paralleling the Columbia River and cross over into Washington on Hyw 97 to Yakima and Enjoy a Miner Burger & Malt. Then head up Hyw 12 past Rimrock Lake and over White Pass to Cayuse Pass (Hyw 123). Ride past numerous roadside falls and then down Hyw 410 along the White river. MT. Rainier - Mountain Highway loop | Date: 6/20/2008 During the spring snow melt this ride is a must do. Highway 410 will take you along the White River into the MT. Rainier National forest and on up to Chinook Pass then around the east side of Rainier via Cayuse Pass (SR-123). This intersects with Stevens Canyon Rd which takes you around the south side of Rainier and up to Paradise. During the spring thaw you will ride between 6 to 8 foot snow banks in areas. Or ride this just for the best Black Berry Pie found at the Copper Creek Inn located in Ashford. Bring a camera! Big Beef Bay - Seabeck | Date: 6/19/2008 Packed with back roads, waterfront views and a one two punch of wild life. This is a 115 mile ride through Purdy, Rocky Bay, Case Inlet and around the North shore of the SE end of Hood Canal. Ride past Dewatto Bay under the canopy of trees and on to Big Beef Bay in Seabeck on Hood Canal. At low tide you will have the opportunity to watch or photograph Bald Eagles hunting and feeding. Cooper Lake | Date: 5/17/2008 This ride is a very scenic ride upI-90 and over Snoqualmie Pass and then on to Hyw 903. NF-46 the leads to Cooper Lake. Along the way see Keechelus Lake, Easton Lake and Cle Elum Lake not to mention many great views of the Snoqualmie River and many roadside waterfalls. Concrete - Arlington Loop | Date: 5/9/2008 A short but sweet ride up the North Cascades Highway (Hyw 20) through Concrete and Rockport to a rest area right next to the Skagit River. Issaquah - Lake Tapps | Date: 4/26/2008 This is a nice ride to Issaquah via highway 18 and the Issaquah Hobart Rd. A stop in at XXX Root Beer drive-in for Washington's best burger with a large cold mug of Root Beer. After allot of napkins and cleanup, it's up I-90 to Highway 18 and then through Black Diamond, Enumclaw, Buckley and around Lake Tapps. A great 122 mile ride and Washington's best burger! Morton - McKenna Loop | Date: 4/12/2008 This ride has some really great back roads. Highway 7 through Elbe and Morton. Highway 12 through Mossyrock and onto 122 and then 508. Enjoy some great back roads Skookcumchuck Rd. and Johnson Creek Rd. This area has some nice twists and turns! Then ride through Centralia and on to Yelm and McKenna. Port Gamble - Poulsbo Loop | Date: 3/22/2008 This scenic packed 187 mile ride is loaded with back roads with great views of the Olympics and Hood Canal not to mention 4 Bay's, 3 inlets, 2 ports and several small towns. Highway 16 to Purdy. Highway 302 to hood Canal. A ride along the Canal and onto some great back roads I have never ridden. Long Beach - Mossy Rock Loop | Date: 3/8/2008 Great long day ride along Highway 101 next to Willipa Bay and on to Mossy Rock and Elbe. Lake Quinault - Olympic Nat. Park | Date: 2/24/2008 Ride Hyw 101, hyw 8 and Hyw 12 through Aberdeen and back on to 101 through miles of sweeing turns to Lake Quinault nested in the Olympic national Park. The view at the South east end is like looking across a glass mirror. There is a cool water fall near the end of the north side. Steamboat Island - Olympia | Date: 2/23/2008 This is a great shorter ride loaded with scenic Puget Sound views. This routes takes you through the back roads to Steamboat Island in Olympia. After Olympia its back to Hyw 510 and the 507 to McKenna for a burger at the Bunkhouse BBQ. This is an amazing ride packed with scenery and some roads I bet you havn't ridden. Hartstene Island | Date: 2/17/2008 Loads of winding back roads leading to a gem of a little island containing Jarrell Cove State Park. This ride takes you over the Narrows bridges, Across the Purdy Spit, around Hartstene island, over several water ways and back through Purdy and Gig Harbor. Lawrence Lake loop | Date: 11/25/2007 98.8 Miles of pure scenic bliss! More breath taking views of Mt. Rainier then any other ride I have ridden.
